All composite molded products are constructed from certified carbon
fiber twill cloth, woven fiberglass cloth, and woven Kevlar® cloth.
These three materials are infused with a high viscosity flexible
resin polymer. The result of this composite recipe is some of the
strongest ballistic material in the motor sports and aeronautical
industries.
RPM Composites chooses to use these
multiple materials to gain the exact properties for which the materials
were intended. Carbon Fiber when molded forms a very rigid structure
with tensile strength equal to steel. Kevlar® and Woven
Fiberglass provide extreme impact and abrasion resistance. By molding all
three materials together they share each others’ properties
of impact distribution and rigidity in one product. By infusing
them with a high viscosity resin these woven cloth materials become
extremely durable yet remain flexible. Current resin technology
allows for molded parts to have flexible memory characteristics
without sacrificing durability or visual clarity of the composite
part.
